Implenia continues to push for greater digitisation and has signed up to “Digital Construction Switzerland”
Dietlikon, 13 January 2016 – Implenia is a committed member of the new “Digital Construction Switzerland” (“Bauen digital Schweiz”) umbrella organisation, which was officially constituted and introduced to the public at the “BIM - Evolution or Revolution?” event on Tuesday at Swissbau in Basel. Dr. Jörg Kaiser, Head of the Technical Center at Switzerland’s leading construction and construction services company sits on the board of the newly established syndicate for the introduction of the digitisation in the Swiss construction industry, while Alar Jost, BIM Manager at Implenia, is on the steering committee. Implenia has been using “Building Information Modelling” (BIM) and computer-aided 3-D models for some time. BIM makes it possible to integrate all the parties working on a project into the construction process digitally right from the start. Key benefits include more accurate planning of costs and the construction timetable, as well more straightforward management of changes. “Digital Construction Switzerland” brings together institutions, associations and businesses involved in construction, and coordinates the relevant organisations and partners along the entire value chain – from planning and supply to construction and operation.
