NEST research and innovation platform at Empa
Implenia has been working with Empa, Eawag and other partners on the planning and construction of a new NEST unit called "Beyond Zero" since the beginning of 2024. In this visionary unit, the majority of CO2-reduced and CO2-negative building materials will be used and researched over the entire life cycle of buildings and infrastructure. For example, thermal insulation materials and cement that bind carbon dioxide in the air or clay-based bricks that do not need to be fired.

CAS Reconstruction Ukraine - Helping People to Help Themselves
The war in Ukraine has had fatal consequences for the population. Important infrastructure, private and public buildings, as well as supply networks have been destroyed. Thus, the Ukrainian population lacks the basis for a safe and peaceful life. CAS Reconstruction Ukraine aims to make a concrete and sustainable contribution to reconstruction in Ukraine. It offers help for self-help and enables people from Ukraine with a connection to the construction industry to actively and farsightedly shape the reconstruction of their homeland. The Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH is responsible for this innovative course of study in collaboration with the Swiss government and the construction industry.
Implenia is also involved and is part of the training in the areas of area, settlement, site and urban development / design of buildings in timber and hybrid construction / possibilities of digital construction according to the "Building Information Modeling (BIM)" method.

Im kulturellen Bereich hat Implenia mit dem «Internationales Circus Festival YOUNG STAGE Basel» einen Partner, der sich für die Nachwuchsförderung von Artisten engagiert. Die Mission der Organisation ist es, sehr talentierten jungen Artisten aus der ganzen Welt eine Plattform und eine Jobbörse zu bieten, den zeitgenössischen Circus generell zu fördern, Netzwerke zu ermöglichen und den Nachwuchs (Kinder und Jugendliche) zu inspirieren. Das «Internationales Circus Festival YOUNG STAGE Basel» ist das grösste seiner Art der Schweiz und gehört in der Branche zu den bedeutendsten der Welt.
