The project

The Buildings branch in Hamburg built a production and assembly hall for wind turbines, including an office building and employee facilities, for the client REpower Systems. Planning was largely fixed by the client, with the branch office providing recommendations for further optimisations.

Challenges

Special services provided included the construction of a heavy-duty floor that allows the hall to withstand the enormous loads of the turbines and ensures sustainable long-term use of the premises. The Hamburg branch office also optimised the surface coating and the concrete formulation of the materials originally intended for use in the flooring.
