As part of the expansion of the Essen site of ThyssenKrupp AG, the 2nd construction phase was realized by Implenia Hochbau. As a partner of the building construction colleagues, Implenia Fassadentechnik built the multifaceted and complex outer shell of the buildings.
The office buildings Q6, Q8 and Q10 were constructed in the course of the expansion of the location. The up to 6-storey office buildings were planned by JSWD Architekten from Cologne. The greatest challenge for Implenia Fassadentechnik was the development, production and installation of the unitised façade. The special construction developed by Implenia Fassadentechnik was based on an aluminium window construction, which included a facade element that was completely pre-fabricated during production, including glazing and sun protection. The use of a prefabricated façade enabled rapid assembly on site and the rapid achievement of building tightness, so that expansion work could begin.
Implenia Fassadentechnik was also responsible for the production, delivery and installation of aluminium mullion and transom facades, sheet steel cladding, external venetian blinds, sheet metal attics and doors. The closed facade surfaces were clad with ThyssenKrupp Steel sheet metal.
