Implenia Fassadentechnik can announce another major order with the DSTRCT project in Berlin. The new building in Berlin-Pankow, designed by architects Gewers & Pudewill, will be given a modern aluminium-glass façade by Implenia with a total value of over 11 million euros.
The area of the former old slaughterhouse on Landsberger Allee, which has been lying fallow for many years, is being developed into a multifunctional office and commercial complex. HB Reavis from Berlin is the building owner of the site. The real estate project developer with its origins in Bratislava has been strongly active in Eastern European countries and London to date and is developing its first project in Germany with the DSTRCT project. Therefore we are delighted to have been chosen as partner for the facade.
The six-storey new office building with a gross lettable area of 49,000 m² and a façade area of over 15,000 m² to be constructed by us will later be used as an office location by 2,500 employees. The building is certified according to DGNB and WELL Gold.
Our main task will be the planning and construction of the full-element façade on the upper floors, which will be technically demanding due to the projections and recesses in the view. The ensemble's new office building will soon give the old slaughterhouse grounds a charm of their own. The foundation stone was laid in September 2019. The facade work on the construction site will begin in mid-2020 and is expected to be completed in early 2021.
