Windpark Mainz-Hechtsheim

Short description

In the Mainz-Hechtsheim wind farm, 7 wind power plants of different sizes have been installed so far.

The project

The largest and most powerful system is the Enercon E-141. With a nominal output of 4.2 megawatts, it generates over 10 million kilowatt hours per year, supplies 3,000 average households and saves over 7,000 t of CO2 emissions.

BBV Systems was responsible for the prestressing steel work on this and the other wind power towers in the Mainz-Hechtsheim wind farm. The tendons were prefabricated in the BBV factory in Bobenheim-Roxheim and delivered to the construction site wound on drums. Immediately after the tendons were embedded in the concrete towers, a team from BBV pre-tensioned the tendons and injected them with mortar.
