Einhausung Schwamendingen (ZH) – Lärmschutzmassnahme

Short description

Construction of the new opencast tunnel with a length of 940 metres, a width of 30 metres and a height of 8-10 metres.

The project

The enclosure of the N01/40 national road between the Aubrugg motorway junction and the Schöneichtunnel over a length of just under one kilometre will create a 30-metre wide utility building that is unique in Switzerland. A continuous green space and meeting place on the roof of the building, the future Ueberlandpark, will be accessible to the local population via ramps, stairs and lifts. It is intended to reconnect the neighbourhood, enhance the quality of life and living and become a recreational zone. The enclosure almost completely eliminates the nuisances caused by the motorway, such as noise and exhaust fumes. ASTRA is financing the groundbreaking project together with the canton and the city of Zurich.
